San Francisco, September 13-19, 2016: Day Five in the City Sept. 18

Day five in the city was a return to The Golden Gate Bridge to get some pics in the sunshine, then a hike out in Muir Woods, a visit to City Lights Books in the city, and a stop outside of the TransAmerica Building, then a finish of the trip on a cruise out to tour Alcatraz.

Return to the Golden Gate Bridge

YOUTUBE VIDEOS
Crossing Golden Gate Bridge and going thru the Robin Williams Tunnel headed to Muir Woods. I wish I had played Coldplay's "Shy Full of Stars" a bit louder. This is from the cd I bought the night before at Amoeba in Berkeley.

Returning from Muir Woods and I finally got the music volume fixed.

Muir Woods
This place put me in a state of awe. The trees are so beautiful. I included some videos because the trees are too large for pics.

I got inside a tree.

Looking up, again...

Looking way up...

Final Day in San Francisco

TransAmerica Building

The redwood forest at TransAmerica Building.

This beautiful building is between City Lights Books and the TransAmerica Building.

Alcatraz

TransAmerica Building and Coit Tower from the pier where we boarded the ferry to Alcatraz Island

Bird formation that flew next to the ferry on the ride out to Alcatraz Island.

And I thought the showers in high school and college were very open. Prison showers are even more open.

My final view of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Alcatraz is really eerie at night.

This circular staircase was a fascinating thing to see in a prison.

Bird friend on a cable near the ferry before we boarded it to head back to San Francisco.

Goodbye, San Francisco. I love you.
